Feature film adaptation of the animated short films that are presented as supporting films at TOHO Cinemas throughout Japan. Set in downtown Tokyo, Ropé, a paper bunny, and upper class paper squirrel Akira play out a slacker-style drama with relaxed conversation. Akira and Ropé get extremely busy as they try to savour the final day of summer vacation. Akira has to deal with the problems of his yet-to-be-started summer research project and fixing his big sister's earrings. On top of all that, he gets tangled up in a robbery.
