In Defense of our Dreams tells the story of a Nicaraguan farmer, Felipe, and his struggle to provide for his family while living in the village of San Marcos. Through their partnership with Agros, a non-profit based in Seattle, WA, Felipe and his fellow villagers were given the opportunity to farm and one day own title to acres of Nicaraguan farmland. Felipe and the people of San Marcos, most of whom for generations have known only war, cruelty, murder, and poverty are buying land, growing crops, and building homes with hope for a brighter future for their families.
