Phil is a pleasant young man of 30, successful at his job in a large international company. One Sunday morning he wakes up to find a strange old man in his flat. Assuming the man is homeless, he tries to get rid of him. But the 'vagrant' turns out to be an angel sent from heaven to spend this Sunday with Phil. By the end of this extraordinary day Phil reluctantly realizes that many aspects of his life need changing, as the Angel points out to him in a sometimes excessively categorical and peremptory manner. The next morning the Angel is gone, without leaving any memories of his presence the day before. But the hope remains that this encounter has left its mark on Phil.
